About us

Established in 2001, Coast & Country took over the ownership and management of homes from Redcar and Cleveland Borough Council as part of a large-scale stock transfer in July 2002.

As the largest RSL in Redcar and Cleveland, we own and manage a total of 10,057 homes, as at 31 March 2011, including 29 shared-ownership properties.

The company is a 'not for profit' local housing company limited by guarantee.  We are a registered social landlord (RSL) and are regulated by the Tenant Services Authority.  Click here to visit the TSA website to find out more about what they do and how you can compare different landlords.

The TSA launched a range of six standards in 2010 that it expects housing providers to meet.  The standards cover:

  • tenant involvement and empowerment
  • home
  • tenancy
  • neighbourhood and community
  • value for money
  • governance

You can read more about these standards and how Coast & Country are working with tenants to deliver the standards within our services here.
